DGP Nalin Prabhat's Groundbreaking Visit

On Sunday, Nalin Prabhat, the Director General of Police (DGP) for Jammu and Kashmir, made a significant mark in history by becoming the first police chief to visit the Lolab Valley, located near the Line of Control (LOC), an area historically affected by terrorism and unrest. During his visit, DGP Prabhat assessed the ongoing anti-terror operations, focusing on the readiness of ground forces involved in counter-terrorism efforts. He engaged with members of both the Special Operations Group (SOG) of the Jammu and Kashmir Police and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) at the SOG Camp in Lolab, praising their commitment and effectiveness in navigating the challenging environment.

DGP Prabhat emphasized the importance of maintaining consistent pressure on counter-insurgency operations, urging for continuous efforts to thwart Pakistani terrorists attempting to infiltrate and disrupt peace in the Kashmir Valley. His visit was not only aimed at evaluating the law and order situation but also at uplifting the morale of local police forces, sending a strong message of zero tolerance towards terrorism and violence.

The residents of Lolab Valley warmly received DGP Prabhat's visit, viewing it as a historic and positive development. Many locals expressed their appreciation for being recognized by high-ranking officials, valuing his decision to visit in person rather than relying solely on distant reports. This direct interaction is perceived as a crucial step towards fostering trust between security forces and the local population, enhancing feelings of safety and inclusion in a region that has faced years of conflict.

Security analysts believe that the DGP's visit will significantly influence the security strategy in Kashmir, which now aims to combine vigilant oversight with genuine engagement with the community. This strategy seeks to create an environment where residents feel secure and actively involved in their own safety.

In line with ongoing security enhancements, a series of counter-terror operations are currently being conducted across various districts in the Jammu region, including Rajouri, Poonch, Kishtwar, Doda, and Udhampur. These operations focus on the hinterlands, utilizing ground-level intelligence to effectively guide troop movements.

Reinforcements have been dispatched to sensitive areas, with improved night surveillance employing advanced technology. Measures have been taken to obstruct traditional infiltration routes used by terrorists in the Kashmir and Jammu regions, while operational strategies have been updated to prioritize nighttime activities, preventing terrorists from regrouping or maneuvering through the hilly terrain.
